Regular message, November 2: BJP candidate Rupjyoti Kurmi won the Moriyani constituency by a huge margin. Rupjyoti Kurmi, who quit the MLA post and the Congress party and joined the BJP and contested the by-election, managed to regain the Mariyani constituency.
Kurmi, who won the BY-election on a BJP title from Maryoni constituency, won by 40,104 votes today. He got 55,489 votes while his nearest candidate Lohit Konwar of congress got 15,385 votes.
In a media conference after the win, Rupjyoti Kurmy said, "The people of Maryani won by voting for development and development in the by-elections. The people are now looking for development.
