Lakhimpur Organic: Ashish Mishra can surrender anytime, police bid- Action to be taken on the basis of evidence

Three days after the report was filed in the Tikunia organic case, the police are still on the backfoot as the named accused Ashish Mishra has not been arrested. Farmers' leaders, including the Opposition, are demanding his arrest. Talking exclusively to Amar Ujala on Wednesday, ADG Lucknow Zone SN Sabat said that police are still collecting evidence related to the incident. The arrest will be made immediately if the evidence is confirmed. Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra Teni, who arrived in Delhi on Wednesday, stayed briefly in the Home Ministry. Sources said Ashish Mishra may surrender anytime.

A total of eight people, including four farmers, were killed in a bloody clash in Tikunia on Sunday afternoon, after which the Yogi and Central Modi governments in the state are the target of the opposition. Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi is demanding the dismissal of minister Ajay Mishra Teni and the arrest of her son Ashish Mishra. Ashish Mishra has been booked for murder in the case. 

However, three days after the case was registered, the police are still on the target of the opposition for not arresting them. He is facing charges of work under pressure from power and saving the Union Minister. However, bhakiu leader Rakesh Tikait, who mediated between the family members of the deceased farmers and the government, also stepped up his demand for teni's dismissal and his bete's arrest from the cabinet after the agreement. 

Teni said, Ashish was not on the spot

On the opposition's allegations, Minister Teni says how his son could be arrested when he was not on the spot in the bloody clash. More or less the same thing is being said by the police, which the Opposition is constantly accusing the police of acting under pressure from power. However, the police say that there should not be haste in major crimes and cases unless evidence is found. 

According to sources, a police team has been sent to Ashish Mishra's village Banvirpur.  Teni, who left for Delhi on Tuesday night after being summoned, reached the Home Ministry on Wednesday morning where he stayed for a while. Teni's meeting with Amit Shah is also not said to be pleasant. This is reinforcing the fact that Ashish Mishra can surrender. The conversation and accent with ADG zone SN Sabat have also indicated this.

Sabat speaks on kheri's new police chief

On the question of failure of law and order situation in Kheri district, ADG Zone said that the matter is under judicial investigation and hence it is too early to say anything on it. After the inquiry report, the whole thing will come out in the open. Talking about the change in the SP in Kheri, he said the state government will take a decision in this regard after the inquiry report. 

However, the way senior IPS Sunil Kumar Singh, Ajay Pal Sharma, Himanshu Kumar have taken the lead in Kheri. That cannot be ruled out. However, he has put the ball in the court of the state government.

But it is also important to know that this is not the first time that a state government is preventing opposition leaders from visiting the spot. Many examples of this can be seen in the indian politics. State governments or district administrations have taken stock of the law and order situation and imposed restrictions on such visits.
